  • Where is Killam headquartered?

    Killam's head office is at 3700 Kempt Road, Suite 100, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

  • Where are Killam’s properties located?

    Killam’s apartments are located in the six largest cities in Atlantic Canada, including:

    • Halifax, Nova Scotia
    • Saint John, New Brunswick
    • Moncton, New Brunswick
    • Fredericton, New Brunswick
    • St. John’s, Newfoundland
    • Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

    Killam also has apartments in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, including the following cities:

  • How many properties does Killam own?

    Killam owns 276 properties, including 227 apartment properties, 40 manufactured home communities and 9 commercial properties. Killam has a total of 19,133 apartment units and 5,975 MHC units.

  • Why should I rent from Killam?

    Killam provides clean, safe, and quality housing to tenants who are proud to call Killam's properties home. For more information, please see the "Why Killam" page.

  • How can I arrange a viewing of a Killam apartment?

    You can book a viewing by visiting the building page and contacting the leasing representative by email or by phone (toll free) or simply click the “Book A Viewing” box and arrange a tour. This will go directly to the leasing representative who will confirm your appointment.

  • Are any utilities included in the rent?

    Utility inclusion varies from building to building. Some buildings do not include any utilities, while others include heat, hot water, and/or electricity. To determine what your prospective building includes, look under the "Building Features" section of the specific apartment's page.

  • Do I need renters' insurance?

    Killam requires all tenants to obtain $2 Million Liability insurance through a licensed agent, provide proof of insurance to the Landlord upon moving in and continue to provide proof of coverage on an annual basis.  The Landlord does not ensure the Resident’s contents and accordingly will not accept responsibility for any damages to personal property.

  • Are the apartments furnished?

    Killam offers furnished suites at selected buildings in Halifax and St. John's. For more information, please visit the "Furnished Suites" section of our website.

  • Is parking available?

    Parking availability and cost varies from building to building. For more information about parking at a particular building, please contact the leasing agent.

  • Are pets allowed in the buildings?

    Killam allows pets in a few of its apartment buildings. Please check with the individual property to learn if pets are permitted.

For Residents

  • Do I need renter’s insurance?

  • How can I pay my rent?

    You can pay your rent using our Pre-Authorized-Payments (PAP) system. This is where money is automatically withdrawn from your provided bank account when rent is due. This is our preferred method for rent collection.

  • How do I contact my resident manager?

    To find your resident manager's contact information, search for your building address by using the search box at the top of your screen. Your resident manager's phone number is listed on the specific apartment's page.
