COVID-19 For Residents
The health, safety, and wellness of our residents, our employees, and the communities we serve, is of the utmost importance to Killam Apartment REIT. As such, we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and take guidance from the health authorities on best practices.
We will continue to communicate with residents via Posters in the lobbies of each our or buildings, as well as by through our website. Also, we have provided information related to proper hygiene practices and encouraged all residents to follow the protocols set out by government and health authorities.

Contractors & COVID-19 Safety Protocols

With the ongoing presence of COVID-19 across Canada, we continue to diligently observe Public Health and other related safety guidelines. We appreciate the ongoing efforts of our residents in adhering to these protocols.
We are committed to maintaining a high level of service and keeping the health and wellness of our residents top of mind at all times as we provide our essential service. We continue to work directly with our contractors to perform maintenance on units, including vacant units, to deliver excellent service to our residents while navigating the pandemic. We look to our valued contractors to confirm that they and their employees are operating with the same principles as Killam, including:
- Wearing masks when in all common areas or when physical distancing cannot be maintained
- Limiting contact to residents while work is being completed
- Disinfecting work areas before work commences and upon completion of work
- Practicing proper personal hygiene such as frequent handwashing/sanitizing and respiratory etiquette
- Wearing appropriate PPE, including for COVID-19, while work is being completed
- Staying home if they are ill
- Notifying Public Health if they are ill and following their guidance for isolation, contact tracing, etc.
- Following all Provincial and Public Health Guidelines in relation to COVID-19

Temporary Amenity Space Closures

COVID-19 cases across Canada continue to rise and serve as a strong reminder that we must continue to diligently observe Public Health and other related safety guidelines. We appreciate the ongoing efforts of our residents in adhering to these protocols.
Closure of Amenity Spaces
After thoughtful consideration, with the health and wellness of our residents and employees in mind, we will close amenity spaces. All amenity spaces including social rooms, fitness centres, study rooms, and libraries, etc. will be closed until further notice. This decision will be reviewed in 2 weeks.
Other COVID-19 Protocols
Please remain diligent will all COVID-19 safety protocols, including:
- Wear a mask when in indoor common areas including lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, etc.
- Minimize social contact and adhere to gathering limits.
- Always maintain physical distancing with individuals outside of your household.
- Practice proper handwashing and respiratory hygiene.
- Stay home if you are feeling unwell.
